Horticultural Therapy Educational Program
An online certificate program in Horticultural Therapy.
Course Schedule
Students can begin any course at anytime and finish at their own pace.
By registering before these dates, students may be able to collaborate with a group.
Fall Courses
September - December
Introduction to Horticultural Therapy
This course will meet online for twelve weeks. Six hours will be spent on site visits and volunteer hours.
October - November
Therapeutic Design
This course will meet online for eight weeks. Three hours will be spent on a site visit.
October - November
Garden and Nature Crafts
This course will meet online for five weeks. Three hours will be spent on a craft presentation to a horticultural therapy site. The dates for this course will include crafts for Halloween, Thanksgiving and the holiday season.

June Courses

- Growing and Using Herbs
- The Flower Garden
- The Rose Garden
These can be taken at any six week interval during the year. They will be offered from the beginning until the end of June.
Six additional hours will be spent on a nursery visit and/or a garden visit and a site and/or volunteer visit to a garden in a healthcare and healing setting.
The Occupational Work Experience/Internship can be taken at any time. Students can choose a minimum of 36 hours and a maximum of 1000 hours for their internship. The American Horticultural Therapy Association awards points towards Professional Registration for an internship up to 1000 hours and will divide them for any portion thereof.
I can supervise long distance internships and find placements for students in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Horticulture Courses
Introduction to Horticulture and Plant Propagation - These courses can be taken independently online or at a local college.
